Institute of Technology, Sligo’s newly refurbished School of Business & Social Sciences Building was officially opened in late November. Students, staff and invited guests gathered in the new facility which is being named after Constance Markievicz, one of Ireland’s most influential historical figures.

Associate Professor Brendan Boyle last night received a 2017 Teaching Excellence Award from the Australian Awards for University Teaching (AAUT), for his innovative delivery modes that are helping students confidently complete their studies.

Curtin University has appointed Professor Archie Clements as its Pro Vice-Chancellor Health Sciences, commencing in April 2018.

Professor Clements is currently Director of the Research School of Population Health and Professor of Infectious Disease Epidemiology at the Australian National University (ANU) in Canberra. The Research School of Population Health is comprised of five academic units, including the flagship National Centre for Epidemiology and Population Health (NCEPH).
