The latest Government education data release has shown that graduates of the University of Gloucestershire’s Business School are, on average, 4% more likely to be in sustained employment or further study 5 years after graduating. In addition, on average, University of Gloucestershire graduates earn £700 a year more than their peers 3 years after graduating.

These figures come the morning after the ‘Outstanding Employer Engagement Strategy’ at last night’s (Thursday 21 June) Times Higher Education Leadership and Management Awards 2018 and ahead of the opening of the University’s new multi-million pound Business School in Gloucester. …

University shortlisted for two national awards for achievements in business support and innovation in teaching

The University of Gloucestershire is celebrating success in being shortlisted for two awards in this year’s national Times Higher Education Leadership and Management Awards (THELMAs).

This follows the university’s success in winning the top award in two THELMA categories last year –  for outstanding financial performance, and for outstanding marketing and communications team.

This year’s shortlisting recognises the university’s achievements in two areas:

  • The Growth Hub at the University’s Oxstalls campus has been shortlisted as an outstanding example of employer engagement and services to business.

University is in top 20 for ‘University of the Year’ at Whatuni Student Choice Awards

The University of Gloucestershire has been ranked in the top 20 in the UK for ‘University of the year’ in the national Whatuni Student Choice Awards. The University also ranked in the top 10 for ‘Student Support’ (10), ‘Courses and Lecturers’ (9) and for ‘Postgraduate’ (8), announced at a ceremony in London.

The University of Gloucestershire is today celebrating success in this year’s National Teaching Fellowship Awards.

The Fellowships are awarded to the best University teachers across the UK, following a competition run by the Higher Education Academy. This year two members of staff at the University of Gloucestershire are amongst the 55 award winners across the country. They are Dr Alex Ryan and Ros O’Leary. The University of Gloucestershire has been awarded money to support its work into gaining a stronger understanding of its students’ views on safety, security and wellbeing, including sexual harassment.

The university is one of 64 universities and colleges across the country to receive a share of £2,453,141 from the Higher Education Funding Council for England (HEFCE) for projects that aim to address concerns about sexual violence and harassment on campus.

University of Gloucestershire graduates are more likely to find employment after graduation new data has revealed.

The university has again performed strongly in the Destination of Leavers from Higher Education (DLHE) survey, which looks at the destination of all university students who graduated in the 2014/15 academic year.

It shows 95.0% of Gloucestershire graduates were in employment or further study after leaving the university.  This is better than the national average across all universities of 93.9%.  …
