The Undergraduate fashion design program hasn’t been running for a few years at the University of Gloucestershire but now it is back and is commencing again this September 2015 (So there’s still plenty of time to get your portfolio ready!)

What’s really great about this Fashion Design program at Gloucestershire is that the Fashion label, Superdry is partnering with the University of Gloucestershire for this unique program and will offer career workshops and placements. I was told on a recent trip that the Art and Photography schools at Gloucestershire have great industry links and this just confirms it!

Take a look at the course outline below and get in touch with us to make an application for free, or get in touch if you have any questions….they’re also free ;)

BA (Honours) Degree

This course focuses on encouraging individual creativity whilst developing your understanding of the design process in preparation for the fashion industry. Throughout the three years you will be given the opportunity to develop your own aesthetic and design pathway creating concepts through in-depth research, drawing and design development with innovated outcomes through cut and construction. Alongside studio based practice are stimulating modules of contextual theory of art and design history, collaboration and professional practice.

The first year underpins your skills and creativity through research, drawing, 2D design, 3D drape and pattern cutting whilst challenging form, silhouette and garment construction. You will also have the opportunity to explore possibilities of illustration, surface design, sustainability and styling.

Opportunity to meet industry professionals and get involved in fashion shows and workshops

During the second year the course continues to expand on your drawing and design skills, with the option to specialise in menswear or womenswear with the addition of print continuing to experiment in a professional approach through industry projects. The second year also develops your employability and enterprise skills through professional practice and work experience. The final year focuses on self-directed research and combines all your skills to develop a design signature explored in your final collection.
