Journalism is an exciting profession which has evolved to include not only print and broadcast media but online outlets and social media sites such as Twitter and Facebook.

Griffith’s journalism programs will prepare you well for a range of opportunities in communications, public relations and media-related fields. You’ll gain experience in journalistic techniques along with specialised knowledge in a number of other fields such as politics, the arts, business or the environment (to list only a few) in order to give you the expertise to cover a particular “round”.

You’ll have access to cutting-edge industry equipment and facilities, including digital television and radio studio, editing suites, a writing and media studio, and a journalism studio.  You’ll be taught by academics with valuable industry experience and contacts, who are also internationally-renowned for their research.  You’ll hone your skills and gain your own industry contacts before graduation through our extensive industry internships program.

A Bachelor of Communication from Griffith University doesn’t just prepare you for a career in today’s media and communication industries — it also gives you the ability to use those skills anywhere in the world.  New global information networks provide great opportunities. This degree encourages students to select studies in a range of communication areas so they can realise their creative potential and maximise their employment opportunities.  Students have the opportunity to specialise in professionally-oriented areas of study as well as getting to grips with the big issues confronting media and communication.

Griffith’s Bachelor of Communication is a globally-recognised qualification that prepares you to be an innovator,  ommunicator and creator in a wide range of exciting careers.  You’ll develop the ability to write effectively and communicate your ideas in a range of media including social media and social networking, which are increasingly important aspects of communication focussed positions. You’ll acquire expertise in independent thinking and the generation of new knowledge. You’ll gain an advanced understanding of the importance of communication in the modern world.
