RGU Lecturer Recognised As One Of The Best Young Chartered Accountants Of 2018

A Robert Gordon University (RGU) lecturer has been named as one of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Scotland (ICAS) Top 100 Young Chartered Accountants (CAs) of 2018.

RGU Lecturer Recognised As One Of The Best Young Chartered Accountants Of 2018Martyn Gordon has been recognised for his achievements as a lecturer in accounting and finance at RGU’s Aberdeen Business School.

The ICAS Top 100 CAs of 2018 recognises the achievements of young CAs and the impact they have made both within their own organisations and with clients.

Martyn shares a spot on the list with people based across the world, from San Francisco and Hong Kong to Sydney.

Martyn studied accounting and finance at RGU and qualified as a CA with EY whilst working in their International Tax Practice. He then joined RGU as a lecturer in 2016 and teaches accounting, tax and corporate ethics. His research focusses on transparency and social accountability in tax and accounting policies.

Martyn said: “It’s a great honour to be included in this list with some very impressive CAs. I feel very privileged to work in academia in a rewarding job which I enjoy and I’m very thankful to my colleagues for nominating me to be recognised for my work.”

Elizabeth Gammie, Head of Aberdeen Business School at RGU, said: “I am delighted that Martyn has been recognised in this way. He is an outstanding young academic and is one of the rising stars in Aberdeen Business School.”

All 100 people on the list have been invited to the Young CAs Summit on June 21, where the ICAS One Young CA 2018 will be announced.
