Griffith University’s reputation on the international stage continues to be enhanced following this week’s release of the annual 2019 QS World University Rankings by Subject, which saw four of the University’s subject areas retain positions in the top 50.

Nursing, Performing Arts, Sport-related subjects and Hospitality and Leisure Management remain in the top 50, with the latter again ranked inside the top 20. …

Griffith University has asserted its place as a global standout in the 2018 ShanghaiRanking Global Ranking of Academic Subjects, earning noteworthy results for several of its courses.

Most remarkably, Griffith was ranked at No. 1 in Australia and No. 2 in the world for Hospitality and Tourism for the second straight year, as well as topping the nation for Law (including Criminology), which earned a No. 33 result globally.

“We are delighted that so many of our programs – Hospitality and Tourism chief among them – have performed so strongly in these rankings,” Vice Chancellor and President Professor Ian O’Connor AC said. …

New hologram technology is allowing University of Canberra nursing students to learn about physical assessment in an innovative way.

The technology is being used to augment the nursing classroom experience, giving students the chance to interact with a holographic patient, exploring complex scenarios.

The University is trialling the use of the HoloLens, a Microsoft platform which has the potential to change nurse education, and boost the understanding of anatomy, physiology, and also physical assessment. …
