During your Bachelor of Laws LLB (Hons) course at Bangor University in Wales you will study the seven foundation subjects to obtain a Qualifying Law Degree plus additional legal and/or non-legal subjects which allow for specialization. Bangor’s Bachelor of Laws LLB students are encouraged to study in areas which complement your chosen degree scheme.

  • All degrees have Qualifying Law Degree (QLD) status denoting that Bangor Bachelor of Laws LLB graduates will have completed the academic stage of training for the legal professions in England and Wales.
  • As all Bangor Bachelor of Laws LLB degrees have QLD status, graduates may enter directly onto Legal Practice Courses (LPC) to become solicitors or the Bar Practice Training Courses (BPTC) to become barristers.

Professional Recognition in Canada

All Bangor University’s Bachelor of Laws LLB degrees are recognized by the Law Society of England and Wales and the Bar Council, and therefore enjoy Qualifying Law Degree status.

Graduates of Bangor University’s Bachelor of Laws LLB (Hons) are eligible to apply for licensing in Canada; however, it is critical students understand the requirements needed to complete this process before licensing will be granted.
