This degree is designed to prepare students for a professional legal career in Australia, Canada, and other international jurisdictions.

The compulsory requirements of this Law degree ensure a thorough grounding in common law principles and legal methodology while a wide choice of elective courses range from the commercial (eg, Intellectual Property, and Taxation Law) to liberal and socially-oriented topics (such as Family Law and Legal Theory). The University of Adelaide’s Undergraduate Entry Bachelor of Laws (LLB) degree provides graduates with a rigorous knowledge of the areas of substantive law necessary to undertake legal practice within a broad liberal education.

The University of Adelaide’s Bachelor of Laws (LLB) program consists of number of compulsory law courses which provide students with a sound understanding of legal concepts, processes and methods. In addition, students choose from a range of elective law courses in areas of specialized interest including but not restricted to, such areas as Media Law, Law of Work, Immigration and Migration Law, Environmental Law, Human Rights Law, Medical Law and Ethics and Family Law.

Assessment for Adelaide’s Undergraduate Bachelor of Laws (LLB) is through a combination of class participation, written assignments, exams, research essays, oral presentations, and the traditional moot court competitions.

During your study you will be provided with a number of opportunities to undertake a work placement either through one of Adelaide Law School’s internship programs or by undertaking Clinical Legal Education.
