Overview

La Trobe University Master of Speech Pathology Overview

The Speech Pathology program at La Trobe University aims to qualify students as speech pathologists for work in Australia.

Within La Trobe University’s Speech Pathology program, theoretical studies cover the assessment, diagnosis, treatment and provision of management and advocacy services to people with communication or swallowing disorders. These people may have difficulties in speech, language, voice, fluency, and reading and spelling.

La Trobe University’s graduate-entry Speech Pathology program lets graduates with a degree other than speech pathology gain a professional qualification. La Trobe is the longest standing provider of speech pathology education programs in Victoria.

La Trobe’s Speech Pathology program is delivered using Problem-Based Learning methods as well as more traditional teaching and learning formats. Students will develop your knowledge and skills using actual speech pathology cases and will gain valuable practical experience in La Trobe’s clinic and external placements.
