The ACU speech pathology program has been developed to ensure that all aspects of the program can be accredited and thus enable speech pathology graduates at ACU to meet the Competency Based Occupational Standards (CBOS 2011).

This is a prerequisite for achieving entry-level requirements to practice speech pathology in Australia and New Zealand. ACU will seek accreditation of it’s Bachelor of Speech Pathology from Speech Pathology Australia.

Accreditation is not possible until the first cohort of students is in the final years of the program. Following accreditation, graduates will be eligible to become a practising member of Speech Pathology Australia.

ACU’s Bachelor of Speech Pathology graduates applying to licensing in Canada, UK or the USA will be required to provide details of their program of studies to the relevant bodies and sit a licensing examination.
