You’ll complete 60 days of professional experience during the Master of Teaching (Secondary) at La Trobe University.

Entry Requirements

Applicants undertaking the Master of Teaching Secondary at La Trobe University must hold a Bachelor degree or approved equivalent in a relevant discipline area/s for primary or secondary teaching as per the National Program Standards and the Victorian Institute of Teaching.  For secondary teaching students must qualify in two separate teaching areas from the following list:

Professional Recognition

Professional Recognition in Canada

La Trobe University’s Master of Teaching (Secondary): All initial teacher education programs are required to be accredited with the VIT every five years. Consequently, the Master of Teaching (Secondary) is currently undertaking accreditation with the Victorian Institute of Teaching. Professional registration may require an application to VIT and may have additional or ongoing requirements beyond the completion of the degree. Graduates of La Trobe’s Master of Teaching programs are eligible to apply for licensing in Canada, however, it is critical students understand the requirements needed to complete this process before licensing will be granted.
