Macquarie University’s Juris Doctor (JD) will continue the Law School’s tradition of providing interdisciplinary perspectives on the study of law to ensure graduates not only know what the law is, but why it has evolved the way it has and where it might or should develop in the future. Macquarie University Law School students will develop an understanding of the Australian legal system, including corporate and commercial law, environmental law, perspectives on international law and social justice. Macquarie Law School in Australia has embraced the University’s Participation and Community Engagement program, requiring every student to undertake experiential or work-integrated learning prior to graduation to ensure they are workplace ready.
Students will develop a comprehensive understanding of the Australian legal system and an international law perspective with the Juris Doctor (JD) program offered at Macquarie University’s Law School in Australia.
This three-year Juris Doctor (JD) program is for students who have completed a non-law bachelors degree (or recognized equivalent) and want an accredited postgraduate legal qualification.
Macquarie’s Law School Juris Doctor (JD) gives students an advanced knowledge and understanding of the law and how the law operates, giving them the high-level skills and capabilities to not only practice law but apply themselves in a range of professions.
This law degree continues Macquarie Law School’s tradition of providing interdisciplinary perspectives on the study of law. Students will not only know what the law is, but also discover its origins, assess its effectiveness and consider the need for reform.
