Flinders University Bachelor of Clinical Sciences / Doctor of Medicine
This double degree program enables high school students without an undergraduate degree to pursue a career in medicine. The program provides a high standard of academic, clinical and professional medical training to equip graduates with the skills necessary to take up positions as hospital interns and thereby qualify for medical registration in Australia.
The Bachelor of Clinical Sciences / Doctor of Medicine is only available to high school students. Applicants must have completed year 12 (or equivalent) and must not have a record of study at any college or university.
Successful applicants to the Bachelor of Clinical Sciences / Doctor of Medicine will be guaranteed Flinders University housing on site at the Flinders campus.
2025 Entry Requirements
All medical students are registered with the Medical Board of Australia, which has responsibility for ensuring that all persons permitted to practice medicine in Australia should be fit and proper persons to maintain professional standards. Students in the Bachelor of Clinical Sciences, Doctor of Medicine course will be registered once they commence the Doctor of Medicine component of the course.
In Canada, provincial and territorial medical regulatory authorities have the responsibility to confer licences to physicians. The Medical Council of Canada plays an important role in the assessment of potential physicians in Canada. This assessment includes national qualifying examinations and satisfactory completion of acceptable postgraduate training. It is the responsibility of the medical school graduate to contact the provincial body for regulations and requirements.
