The Macquarie MD program integrates applied medical sciences with clinical sciences, professionalism, research and cultural responsiveness. The teaching environment is fully integrated with outstanding patient-centered clinical care and active health and medical research. This environment is called MQ Health.
It is designed for students with a high level of achievement in tertiary study, who engage in a variety of experiences and activities; have the interpersonal skills desirable in a medical student and doctor; and the resilience, commitment and desire to help improve the health of Australian and global communities.
MQ Health aims to prepare graduates to be culturally responsive, engaged, globally aware medical professional; have respect and sensitivity toward cultural needs of diverse populations; are aware of the impact of their own culture and values on their medical practice.

2024 entry requirements
Macquarie University’s Doctor of Medicine is accredited by the Australian Medical Council (AMC) and approved by the Medical Board of Australia (MBA).
In Canada, provincial and territorial medical regulatory authorities have the responsibility to confer licences to physicians. The Medical Council of Canada plays an important role in the assessment of potential physicians in Canada. This assessment includes national qualifying examinations and satisfactory completion of acceptable postgraduate training. It is the responsibility of the medical school graduate to contact the provincial body for regulations and requirements.
