Curtin University’s Doctor of Physiotherapy program is an extended masters degree, not a doctorate/higher degree, that will run the length of 3 years. This extended length will allow for a more spread out course content structure giving students better study breaks and schedule.

The Physiotherapy program is taught in world-class facilities by highly qualified staff with excellent clinical and research capabilities. The School of Physiotherapy at Curtin University makes innovative use of web technology for staff and student communication and to integrate student feedback into continual course improvement.
Applicants to Curtin’s Doctor of Physiotherapy must have a relevant 3 year bachelor degree with a minimum GPA of 70%. However, due to the competitive nature of entry the program, GPAs usually run much higher.

Curtin University’s Doctor of Physiotherapy program is accredited by the Australian Council of Physiotherapy. Graduates are eligible for physiotherapy registration in any State or Territory of Australia. Registration in New Zealand is available under the terms of the Trans-Tasman agreement. Graduates applying to licensing in Canada, UK or the USA will be required to provide details of their program of studies to the relevant bodies and sit a licensing examination.
Students wishing to license as a physiotherapist in Canada should contact the Canadian Alliance of Physiotherapy Regulators for procedures and accreditation procedures. The CAPR is the national federation of provincial/territorial regulators in Canada.
