Curtin University’s graduate entry master (GEM) qualification for speech pathologists is for those with a bachelor degree in another discipline. The academic coursework and clinical practice integrate contemporary theory and research across three streams;
This course in speech pathology will allow students to develop an integrated understanding of the science of human communication as well as the professional competencies for providing speech pathology services to people with communication and swallowing disorders.
Applicants will be required to have a completed honours degree or bachelor degree with a minimum course weighted average of 65%. The application process is competitive and typically successful applicants have demonstrated a 75% – 84% average. There is no preferred undergraduate degree for admission.
Evidence of studies in human biology at university level is essential. Applicants without this background will have to complete additional units in this area before commencing the course.
Curtin University Speech Pathology graduates are eligible for membership of Speech Pathology Australia.
